Trust & Transparency

To prevent malicious takeovers or the influence of bad actors, the platform's core assets and governance authority will be held within a legally registered Community Trust in India.

• Irrevocable Charter: The Trust's charter will legally bind it to the core principles of openness, data sovereignty, and community governance.
• Trustee Board: Trustees will be elected from a pool of respected Indian citizens, academics, and technologists, serving fixed terms.
• Veto Power: The Trust will hold veto power over any proposed architectural or policy change that violates the core principles, ensuring the platform cannot be co-opted.
• Asset Protection: All intellectual property and financial assets are owned by the Trust on behalf of the community, not by a corporation.

Security is not an afterthought; it is the foundation of our design. Our approach is multi-layered and proactive.

• End-to-End Encryption (E2EE): All private user-to-user communications will be E2EE by default. We can't read your messages, and no one else can either.
• Data Encryption at Rest: All user data stored on our federated servers will be encrypted using industry-standard AES-256 encryption.
• Mandatory Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): 2FA will be strongly encouraged for all users and mandatory for all administrators and community moderators.
• Community Bug Bounty Program: We will run a continuous, well-funded bug bounty program to incentivize ethical hackers to find and report security vulnerabilities.
• Regular Audits: The platform will undergo regular, independent security audits by top Indian cybersecurity firms, with results published transparently.

Our Terms of Service will be written in simple, clear language, not confusing legalese. The core tenets are:

• You Own Your Data: You own your content and personal data, period. We are custodians, not owners.
• Data Portability: You can download all your data in a machine-readable format at any time.
• Transparent Moderation: Content moderation policies will be developed by the community, applied transparently, and with a clear appeals process.
• No Algorithmic Manipulation for Profit: We will not use your data to manipulate your feed for advertising revenue. Chronological and user-curated feeds will be the default.

As a crowdfunded, community-driven project, contributions are considered donations towards a shared goal.

• Contributions are Non-Refundable: Your contribution immediately goes towards funding development, infrastructure, and legal costs. As such, they are non-refundable.
• Project Cancellation: In the highly unlikely event that the project is officially cancelled before the launch of the Beta platform, a framework will be initiated by the Community Trust to distribute remaining funds to other non-profit digital rights organizations in India.
• Transparency: All expenditures are tracked and will be made public in our regular progress reports to ensure accountability.
